The next day, Lily went to the garden after a sullen breakfast. The green house held the most exotic of plants from all over the galaxy. This was Lily's sanctuary where she liked to spend her time alone.
Lily walked on the soft dirt path that wound around in a spiral circle to the center where a beautiful marble pool of luminant Pure Water laid, as it had for years before.
Lily raised her head," Computer, turn off all lights in Royal Garden, please."
"As it is done, Princess Water Lily." said the auto-computer. The lights dimmed low. &nbs

Princess Lily looked up from her father's letter with tears welling up in her deep blue eyes. Her fingers trembled, making the paper shake as she sat at the edge of of her bed. She was stunned into silence as her mind tried to understand what she had just read. Lily numbly stood from her bed and stumbled to the slide door to her room. Beside it was a panel of colored buttons. She pressed the golden one with a shaky hand, her breaths turning into constricting sobs and her eyes swimming.
